My Life as a Flyer

Real Life @ Naz

Meet the Team

Meg G.

Hi all! My name is Meg Grant and I'm a 6th year physical therapy student with a passion for pediatrics here at Nazareth. I also have psychology and honors minors. In what little spare time I do have, I do my best to stay active in the music program here where I play oboe. Originally from Buffalo, I'm a huge baseball fan and avid cross-country skiier. I love to spend as much time as I can outside and am always working my way through multiple books. I hope to someday move out west and spend lots of time hiking in our national parks but for now I'm enjoying all that Rochester has to offer.

Molly S.

Hi!  My name is Molly Stark and I’m a senior communications and media major with a concentration in digital media. I’m a Rochester native and  self-proclaimed mental health advocate. In my limited down time, I’m usually napping, eating pizza, or taking BuzzFeed quizzes. Over the past three and a half years, Nazareth has become my second home, and I couldn’t imagine myself anywhere else.

Courtney D.

Hey there! It’s Courtney; I’m a sophomore communications and marketing student here at Naz. Growing up as a military kid, I have developed the constant need to keep moving and exploring. As a result, I find myself off campus at least once a week checking out a new coffeehouse or restaurant. When I’m not exploring Rochester, I’m skating around a track and hitting into people with everything I’ve got; that’s right, this shrimpy little 5’4” blogger of yours plays roller derby with the local league, Roc City Roller Derby. I’ve been playing for about a year and I’m totally obsessed, literally don’t mention it around me unless you’re ready for a complete description of the rules, my position, and why I’m absolutely in love with it.  After two and a half hours of on-skates practice, I like to unwind with an episode of the X Files and a cup of tea in one of my 26 mugs - it’s the one collection I’ve actually stuck with. My indecisive self has no clue where I’ll end up, but for now I’m excited to share all of my Roc adventures with you!

Karah V.

Hi! My name is Karah Vanderwarker and I am a junior from Latham, NY. I am a communication and media and business management double major with an honors minor. When I’m not busy with coursework, I love hanging out with my suitemates and friends, trying out different Rochester coffee houses, and binge watching sitcoms (my personal favorites are How I Met Your Mother, The Office, and Parks and Rec). I’m also obsessed with elephants and all things Disney! I hope to work in public relations or project management after I graduate but, no matter what I end up doing, I want to be able to utilize my passion for writing.

Nicole M.

Hi guys! My name’s Nicole McGreevy and I’m a junior marketing major with minors in visual communications design, digital marketing and design, and communication and media (a mouthful, I know). I’m from Schaghticoke New York, a small town out east near Saratoga Springs. I enjoy reading, drawing, doing makeup, watching Netflix while eating Chipotle, and petting dogs in my free time. I have yet to figure out what I want to do after I graduate from Naz, but I firmly believe that everything will fall into place. I plan to just follow where my heart leads me!

Taylor S.

Hi All! My name is Taylor. I am a sophomore music therapy major here and I am from Scotia-Glenville, NY. On top of loving all things music, I am a big fan of shopping for the latest fashion, getting together with friends to binge on Grey’s Anatomy, and decorating everything! I am just a little obsessed with Pinterest where I find all my crafting ideas (especially while decorating my dorm). On campus, I am a member of Nazareth’s all female acapella group Call4BackUp, a member of AMTAS, and I work for Residential Life as a First Year Community Assistant (FYCCA). I love being so active here at Naz, it makes me never want to leave!

Jeanie M.

Hi! My name is Jeanie McCarthy and I'm a junior Music Education major. I play both the piano and violin. I'm from a town called Warwick, NY (which is 45 minutes north of NYC).  Even though I'm far away from home, I have never been homesick since I've been at Nazareth. Rochester is now a place I can also call "home". I am also junior captain of the Women's Tennis Team. As you could imagine, life as a music major and student athlete keeps me really busy! However, in my limited spare time, I like to hang out with friends, work out, go to concerts, and go shopping. I am forever grateful that I chose to go to Nazareth three years ago; I wouldn't want be anywhere else.

Lauren D.

Hey! My name is Lauren Devine and I'm a 5th year grad student in the occupational therapy program here at Nazareth. I love to stay active on campus and in the Rochester community! Right now, I'm finishing my clinical internships for school. As an undergrad, I was on the field hockey team, I worked at Partners for Learning (tutoring kids in the Rochester City Schools), and I was also the secretary for the Gerontology Club and the treasurer of the Student Occupational Therapy Association. A native of Syracuse, I love all things football and I'm a huge Giants fan. I love Syracuse Basketball and the New York Rangers, too. I love trying new places to eat and exploring what Rochester has to offer (especially sushi places!). After I graduate from the 4+1 Masters Program, I hope to stay in Rochester and find a job working with disabled adults!

Conner B.

Hello all! My name is Conner Burry, and I'm a senior Music Therapy major with minors in Spanish and Psychology! I'm originally from a really tiny town called North Rose, NY where I'm pretty sure there are more apples than people. It's about an hour east of Rochester! I am completely obsessed with travel--I had the opportunity to study abroad twice during my time at Nazareth, once in Portland, Jamaica, and once in Valencia, Spain! I drink coffee like it's water, and I know three languages!

Matt B.

Hey everyone! My name is Matthew Brunale and I'm a sophomore social work student here at Nazareth College! I'm from a small town called Brewster about an hour north of NYC. Here on campus, I spend my days learning the ins and outs of how to empower people to reach their fullest potential. In addition, I'm the resident assistant for twenty freshman in Kearney Hall. In my free time, I help the Racquet Ball Club with their finances, as well as attend meetings for Mind Over Matter, a club that focuses on promoting awareness, increasing education, and removing the stigma around mental health. I've enjoyed my first two years here at Naz and I look forward to continuing for the next two!
