So two weeks ago I had the pleasure of going on an interstate road trip with my two best friends to the Passages Music Therapy Conference at Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia!
(We really love road trips.)
Passages is a very unique conference because it is only for current student music therapists, and new MTs who have been working in the field for less than five years–so it had a very low intimidation factor!
We sat in on several sessions, and even got to make connections with some potential internship opportunities!
We also shared a hotel room–and had some serious catching up time–with our friend Tara who we met during our clinical experience in Jamaica! She is a student at our Music Therapy Sister School, SUNY Fredonia!
(We really missed each other!)
We also got to meet up with Eric Wills, the head of the Jamaica Field Service Project and help him facilitate a drum circle with the rest of the attendees!
It was a great conference and I can’t wait for next year when Nazareth will be hosting the conference here in our brand new Wellness and Rehabilitation Institute!
(Also kudos to this random girl who I asked to take a picture of us and she took selfies on my phone…)
Nazareth is FULL of awesome opportunities for music majors like studying abroad, a music therapy conference we host, on-campus music therapy clinics, and singing backup for Josh Groban!
