One of the best parts of going to a school like Nazareth is all the beautiful scenery our campus has to offer. Everywhere you turn there’s one gorgeous view after another. If you’re looking to show off your Naz pride to the world by taking pictures and sharing them with friends and family, you’re in luck! I’m here to show you my favorite places to take pictures on campus.

1. The Fountain: The fountain was built in the early 20th century by a mason hired by Nazareth’s founders, the Sisters of St. Joseph. The fountain fell into disuse years after it was built. It was rediscovered in 1989 and the grounds crew attempted to restore it for the first time, but within a year or two of operation, the fountain was abandoned again. Thanks to trustee Frank York, Kathy Garen, and her family, it was finally restored in the spring and summer of 2017. Now, with its beautiful stone rows and lights, the Garen Peace Garden is a very popular place to relax, reflect, or take pictures.

2. The Labyrinth: The meditation garden outside the Linehan Chapel and GAC (Golisano Academic Center) features a beautiful labyrinth as part of a tribute to the founding Sisters of St. Joseph’s. Spend some time meditating while you trace your way through the labyrinth or just sit and enjoy the view.

3. The Archway: Known to most of the Naz community as the “Harry Potter archway”, the covered walkway connecting Smyth Hall to the Shults Center is as picturesque as the ones seen in everyone’s favorite wizarding movies (and described in the books).

4. The Echo Circle: Typically featuring seasonal plants and flowers, the Echo Circle in the middle of campus is a great place to take photos with friends or just shout at each other and hear your voices echo around the small space.
