I’m So Thankful for Nazareth!

I’ve had such a wonderful time at Nazareth over the past few years, and I have so much to be grateful for as a result of it all. The Nazareth College experience is one unlike any other; it’s a transformative experience, one that many of us current students wouldn’t want any other way. Nazareth is more than just a small school; it’s a tight knit community where everyone knows each other. I’ve grown to love the people here and have become accustomed to many of it’s amenities and services. As is the custom during this time of year, I’d like to express to all of you some things I’m grateful for here at Naz.

Veteran Services

As a student Veteran, I appreciate all that the school has done for me, particularly the efforts exerted by Chad, the Veteran Services director, and the financial offices. Using the federal benefits most veterans entitled to can be a lengthy and confusing process, one that the average student might not fully understand. Even more importantly, accredited schools must undergo some lengthy degree of paperwork as well in order for the students to begin classes and get the colleges paid by the government. Speaking from experience, not all schools are very good at this process; Nazareth, by contrast, absolutely is. These processes are very important for Veterans, and I am immensely grateful for Nazareth and their focus on assisting me.

The Center for Life’s Work (CFLW)

Success after college is something that many students try not to think about until after school is over; this is a classic mistake that makes the ever-looming job search needlessly difficult. The CFLW exists to assist students with their job search during and after their college experience. For me personally, The CFLW has assisted me with my networking efforts and even helped me secure a fruitful internship in digital advertising. I’m not completely sure about what the future holds, but I know I’ll be coming back at various points to take advantage of their extensive career services and alumni network.

The Center for Student Success

The Center for Student Success provides students with a swath of services designed to help students manage their academic (and life) success. The Center provides success coaching for students who need help organizing their academic pursuits and staying on top of the day-to-day strains of college life. The center also organizes tutoring and learning labs for dozens of different classes, run for and by students. These services help students with academic requirements that they struggle with, and employs other students who hold the tutoring sessions. I’ve been fortunate enough to be asked by previous teachers of mine to tutor new students, which was met with great success.

The Most Beautiful Campus Ever

Regardless of the weather or what’s going on in your life, Nazareth always looks good. Sitting out in front of GAC near the water fountain is always a real treat, In addition to almost everywhere else. Since the fall has arrived, I’ve been spending more and more time sitting outside on benches, admiring the changing colors and seasonal smells. Although I personally love the Fall more than any other season, I cannot deny how majestic the campus becomes under a fresh sheet of glistening snow. If you’ve never seen the campus in this state I’d recommend following the student Instagram account, which will be filled with those winter pictures soon enough! If those pictures aren’t satisfying enough, you could always come walk around the campus, we love visitors!
