When you come to college, you’re not only spending time doing school work, extracurriculars, and sports, you’re also spending time eating food. At Naz, you have many choices to choose from when deciding where to dine with your friends. While we have a number of on-campus dining options, such as the Golden Flyer Grill and Deli, Sorelle’s, the Roost, and Millie’s, one of the main locations campus residents visit on a daily basis is the Dining Hall, otherwise known as the DH. There are many unique features to the dining hall at Naz…

The Berry Bar

Need a daily fix of fruit? The berry bar is perfect for you! Naz recently introduced this self-serve station which features a wide array of berries, yogurt, and granola. This station is available year round! Students typically use this station to make parfaits, or create a simple bowl of berries to enjoy.

Smoothies!

One of the newest additions to the Naz DH is the smoothie station. This year, freshmen were given free Ninja cups as an orientation gift that can be used in the DH to create different combinations of smoothies. This station is self-serve and is quickly becoming a popular one at Naz. The options to create different combinations are endless!

Broth and Salad bar

This station includes options to create a hearty bowl of broth, or a fresh bowl of salad. The great thing about this station is it is made-to-order. Whether you pick a salad or a broth bowl, an employee behind the counter will add the ingredients of your preference, and make the bowl right in front of you! This is a simple and tasty option to choose in the DH, as well as a way to keep yourself healthy.

Pasta Station

The pasta station is one of my favorite parts of the DH! Similar to the broth and salad bar, this station is made-to-order. There are different types of pasta, sauces, and toppings available to customize your pasta order. My favorite order to get last year from the pasta station was bow-tie pasta with alfredo sauce, mushrooms, and spinach!

Both made-to-order stations are good options to customize to your taste, preferences, and any dietary restrictions/needs.

Grill & Pizza Station

Another cool element in the DH is the grill and pizza station. These two stations are next to each other as soon as you enter. The pizza station offers delicious options and often serves breadsticks, too. The grill, otherwise known as Ignite Grill, offers made to order items such as grilled cheese, cheeseburgers, chicken sandwiches, and fries. My favorite item to order from the grill is a pepper jack grilled cheese sandwich.

Daily Dishes

Naz offers many made to order stations in the DH, and also offers tasty pre-made meals. Two of my favorite stations for pre-made meals are Sakura and Simple Servings. Sakura offers a different variety of Asian-Fusion cuisine. Here, my favorite item to pick up is their sushi. Simple Servings offers a healthier alternative for those who would like to enjoy a well-balanced meal. Some items that have been served in the past include turkey burgers, fresh zucchini with garlic and basil, and cajun brown rice.

There are so many great aspects to the DH! With so many new additions, it’s amazing how inclusive the dining hall has become over the years at Naz. To learn more about Naz dining options visit: https://nazdining.sodexomyway.com/index.html
