Hi! My name is Haley Schoelerman. I am in my second year in the doctor of physical therapy (DPT) graduate program! I’m originally from Tonawanda, N.Y., outside of Buffalo, and I came to Naz in 2017. I am on the women’s basketball team here and love being a golden flyer!
My professors at Nazareth have done a great job giving me an opportunity to do an internship at Buffalo Rehab Group.
At my clinical, I am learning new hands-on skills on various patient populations in addition to the various forms of documentation that physical therapists need to be proficient in. I have taken up a caseload of patients and am responsible for completing their plan of care and creating new exercises/stretches in order for them to make a full recovery from their injury!
I am close to home while also getting an amazing experience working with a broad variety of people! My schooling up to this point has been vital to my success at my placement and I can definitely see a future job opportunity coming from this! Even if an internship isn’t required for your program, I highly recommend doing one!”
