If you know anything about me you know that I am extremely busy, and I like a lot of things. As a student-athlete, a Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) member, and someone with a few part-time jobs, I keep my hands pretty full. But something that I have had a lot of fun with over the years is writing blogs for the Nazareth student community.

Whether it be my favorite places to eat at around town or my recommendations on how to make it through midterms, I love being able to connect and share my experiences with others. Which is why I was so thrilled to find out about the opportunity to potentially write for one of my favorite sites, BroadwayWorld.

But how did I find out about this? Randomly one day scrolling through BroadwayWorld’s Instagram page I saw that they were hiring student bloggers. As someone who currently writes for her school’s blog, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to broaden my horizons in an industry I’m passionate about.

Fast forward a day, and I had my entire application done and ready to send. With the help of my mentor (shout-out to Rita Mannelli in the Marketing and Communications department, for being the best), we had a really good application that I was ecstatic to submit. Two weeks later, I hear back from my future editor: I had gotten the job!

Ya know the feeling when you’ve been working hard for a long time, receiving a lot of rejection, and then everything falls into place? That’s how this was for me. Being able to write for such an acclaimed business, and being able to see my work is so rewarding. But none of this would have been possible without my experience at Naz.

I’ve been writing for the blog site for about 2 years, so being able to transfer skills that I’ve learned here to the “real” world is what it’s all about.

Now, almost 3 months into my position, 4 blog posts written, it feels really good to say that not only am I a “My Life as a Flyer” blogger but a BroadwayWorld blogger too!
