Portka Hall — the apartment-style building on campus where I live — is an amazing place to be able to call home during the semesters.

There are four single rooms, two full bathrooms, a living room, and a full kitchen. Portka has the amenities of an off-campus apartment, but with the support net of on-campus housing.

  • The Close Knit Community

I absolutely love the Nazareth campus and community. I love how close everyone is and that it feels like home. Everyone who lives in the apartments are some of the nicest people that I have ever met. There have been times that I needed an egg or another ingredient for baking and numerous different people were willing to help me. When someone makes extra food on the floor I usually get a text asking if I want any! There really is nothing like the sense of community within our apartments. It makes you feel like we are all one giant family.

  • The Convenience

I know that I value my sleep and my time. When you are living on campus everything is a short walk away. You can still roll out of bed 20 minutes before class and not have to worry about making it in time. There is also the convenience of having facilities there for any apartment maintenance needs. Earlier in the semester our spray nozzle stopped working on the sink and within two days it was replaced!

  • Your Own Space

I love being able to have my own room and space to make it my own. Being able to have my own space is such an amazing feeling and knowing that I still have my roommates in the same apartment has also been comforting. I still get that exciting feeling from freshman year of being able to run down the hall to my friend’s room.

  • The Amenities

The apartments are very nice and have so many different amenities!

  • Laundry on each floor at the end of each hall
  • Walking treadmills
  • Lounges
  • Printing
  • Indoor and seasonal outdoor balconies

A special thank you to Lilly Dangler, Grace Mehm, Collin Husband, Kaitlyn Avery, & Peyton Argyle-Lucas for sharing pictures from their apartment!
