The time is here! Acceptance letters start flooding in and you may find yourself waiting on the front steps of your house for the mail to come. I sure was that way, especially for Naz, which was my #1 school. So yes! You got your acceptance! Now what?

1. Celebrate! – Getting into any four year college is a big deal! Bake a cake and give yourself a pat on the back. You deserve it! You’ve worked hard in your years of studying in high school to get to where you are now.

2. Don’t Stop – It is so easy to get senioritis (it will creep up again when you’re a senior in college). Try your best not to slack on schoolwork once you’ve gotten into your colleges. After all, school work and perseverance doesn’t get any easier once you’re here. If anything, you should start preparing for what college academic work is like and push yourself to look more into what interests you academically and research it.

3. Get involved – We have a School’s App for all accepted students to interact and ask questions to other accepted students. Current students, like myself, are also on the app to answer any questions you may have. This is such a great way to get to know your soon to be class. You can find people who have the same interest(s), major, hometown, etc. It’s so much fun to meet people on the app, and then again in person!

4. Explore our website – It may sound a little boring to browse a website, but now that you’re accepted, you can look for the fun stuff! My favorite things to look for when I was in your shoes were the clubs and housing options for first year students. You will even find leadership and service opportunities you can dive right into as soon as you get on campus! Think of it as a search of hobbies.

5. Experience Naz! – Of course, come to campus, especially on a #NazBound Day and/or the bus tour where you can talk with students, attend classes, see the housing options in real life, and talk to incredible staff members and professors. There’s really nothing like our campus life atmosphere and our student involvement. It’s a part of everything we do!

6. Talk to current students – There are plenty of options when it comes to engaging with students, whether it be on the app or talking in person at a #NazBound Day or overnight visit. We love talking to students about campus life, because we are so proud of everything that we have here. I can personally say that I love sharing my experiences and have no doubt that every student will find something that they love.
