This April 2022 I finally was able to experience my first ever Spring fest! The college went above and beyond to make sure that we students were able to celebrate the end of the semester in the best way possible. We were treated with the presence of amazing R&B musical star Tinashe, who I was lucky enough to meet myself. Students also had the opportunity to play laser tag, go down a zipline, bounce on trampolines, play bubble soccer and my favorite, become a human claw machine.

It was so amazing to see everyone come together after enduring the pandemic and facing a lot of challenges with not only how it affected our education but our social lives. Springfest felt like normalcy and a surprise at the same time. Normalcy because we were finally able to have big events again but a surprise because not a lot of the students on campus had ever experienced a Spring fest before.

When we were told we were able to have Springfest again it felt like a reward. The best reward for making it through the pandemic, a congratulations for working so hard and a chance to have just pure fun with no strings attached. All of my friends went to the festivities and we danced and played our hearts out. The food trucks were delicious, it seemed like the Naz Swag was never ending, and it felt really special that a big artist was in our small town. Kim Harvey and her staff & student workers were diligent that the event went smoothly and I’m really looking forward to seeing what they pull of at the next Spring Fest!
