The Tour Tuesday series we’ve created on TikTok is the best place to learn about new spots you may not normally see on a campus tour! These short videos showcase some hidden gems all across the University and give you a sneak peek into how these spots serve students, staff, faculty, and the community. Here are some of the places we’ve highlighted so far:

The Career Closet is the perfect place to find your next outfit on your career journey. The Career Closet, located in Shults, offers one free outfit for students on campus that can be delivered right to their dorm or even mailed off campus! Browse the closet’s collection right online and find ties, blazer jackets for everyone, skirts, pants and more.

Mary Soons-McCarty Greenhouse is our plant haven located in Peckham Hall. The professors and student workers who work in the greenhouse coordinate different plant giveaways and events here on campus. You can also find some of the greenery around campus or even in your lab classes. The greenhouse is a great place to get your green thumb, and anyone is welcome!

Our InterProfessional Animal-assisted Wellness (IPAW) and Study Lounge is a great place to study or relax and give some pets to our campus therapy dogs. Our three therapy dogs on campus are Orion, Rosie, and Tilly. The dogs visit the lounge throughout the week on a schedule. So come meet new students, grab a snack, and get some snuggles from the best therapy dogs!

The ESports Competitive Gaming Room is located in the CAB in Shults on campus. This space has eight gaming computers and chairs to match, TVs to stream your favorite gamers, and headsets. This room hosts our Esports team that competes in the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference against 50 universities and colleges. Naz gamers play Rocket League, Smash Ultimate, FIFA, and more if you want to join the team or have questions email nazesports@naz.edu

The Oak Tree Food Pantry is an open food pantry available to staff, faculty, and students on campus. Nazareth community members can come to the pantry and take any five items at no cost every week. Two social work students created the pantry in hopes of helping any food insecurity that may be in our community. The pantry is open seven days a week and gladly accepts donations!

The Military & Veteran Suite is a dedicated space for armed forces-affiliated students. This lounge offers drinks, snacks, and a space to relax, study, and socialize. Having a spot like this on campus for military-related students, staff, and faculty has increased conversation and offered the opportunity to share different experiences.

The Nest is a fully stocked game room on campus for students. Located in the basement of Lourdes Residence Hall, the Nest has foosball, air hockey, ping pong, darts, and more! The Nest also offers tournaments for game players, and you can reserve it for a club event.

WNAZ the Beat is our student-run campus radio station, located across the hall from Shults Suite 100. Student DJs can stream music on radio.naz.edu 24 hours a day, all across the globe. Listeners can find personally curated playlists, and talk shows or become a DJ for the station themself. You can find WNAZ the beat on Instagram. Plus, staff, students, and alumni are welcome!

The Makerspace is a workroom in the lower level of the campus library dedicated to making and creating. In the maker space, there’s a Cricut, a 3D printer, button makers, a sewing machine, a jam board, virtual reality, plenty of computers and so much more. Open to students, staff, and faculty, creating here is completely free. Check out naz.edu/makerspace for hours.

The ATLAS Center is our gender and sexuality resource center on campus. Located in Shults, they offer a plethora of resources and host different events on campus like National Coming Out Day, Pride Week, and many more. Atlas is also the place to go if you’re looking for information or extra help with inclusive housing, chosen names, gender identity forms, the locations of gender-neutral restrooms on campus, and connections to off-campus LGBTQIA+ resources.

The Frank DiMino Casa Italiana is one of the language houses located on campus. They host Italian classes and cultural events for the campus and community. This is a wonderful spot for students on campus to share meals, study together, and get to know one another. We interviewed a student worker and an Italian foreign exchange student who spend a lot of time at Casa Italiana, and they shared that there is almost always something delicious being made in the kitchen and lots of friendly smiles!

Callahan Theater; Backstage & Costume Shop: In these Tour Tuesdays, Nazareth musical theater students gave us a backstage look at what happens behind the curtains of Callahan Theater located in the Arts Center. The creation of the costumes and sets all happens here for our mainstage productions on campus. Student workers and the tech team have the chance to learn about stage lighting, technical equipment, prop making, and more!

This isn’t the end of Tour Tuesday as it has only just begun. Follow us on Naz’s social media accounts to see even more hidden gems. See you in 2024!
