We are currently living in unknown territories as we work our way through the pandemic that’s affecting the entire world. We all have to do our part in stopping the spread, and Naz has set up a list of rules for us to follow which if we all follow, will keep us all safe.

The number one rule, wearing a mask.

Wearing a mask is not always fun. It can get hot and sweaty, they can be uncomfortable and if you have glasses, they might cause them to fog up. Masks come in a variety of colors, patterns, and types, and I think that they can be a great accessory to any outfit if you put your mind to it. Today I’m going to share and rate my top 5 favorites masks.

*warning: masks mentioned have not been approved by the CDC*

#1: Construct Face Masks

These face masks come in a set of three for $20 off of Amazon and they have a great range of colors and patterns that you can choose from which is great. I’ve already purchased 2 sets myself and I absolutely love them. I would rate these an 8/10. They are pretty comfortable overall, they have adjustable straps which is awesome, so you can change the length to fit your face. These masks are machine washable so you can wear them more than once. The only negatives to these face masks are they don’t come with a filter in the mask, so you have to purchase those separately.

#2: Surgical Masks

These are probably the most basic face masks that you can get. They are also probably the most accessible. Surgical masks range in prices, depending on the amount in the pack. I would give these a 6/10. These are the masks you see most people wearing around, however, they aren’t the most appealing to the eye, fashion-wise. They also aren’t the best, environmentally wise, since they aren’t reusable.

#3: Jaanuu Face Masks

The Jaanuu face masks come in a set of five for a price of $25. They have many colors, compared to the Construct Face Masks where you choose one color, and all of the face masks come in that color, compared to the construct face masks where one set has 3 different colors/patterns. I would rate these masks a 9/10. They are super comfy, they smell great, and they come in a cute little bag that you can use to carry around your masks or other items. They are also machine washable, which is a plus, and they are made with microbial technology.

#4: OA Apparel Face Masks

These face masks are on the pricier side. They are sold individually, but the more you buy the more of a discount you receive. I would rate these masks a 7/10. You can pick and choose what prints and colors you would like. Compared to the other masks mentioned above, these masks are the softest. They feel really nice against the skin and they don’t make your face itch at all. However, just like the Construct face masks, these masks don’t have filters, so they will have to be purchased separately.

#5: Wegmans Face Mask

Considering the campus is down the street from Wegmans, it’s really easy to go pick these up. Wegmans has individual face masks available at their stores in little bins before checkout. They have a few variations in color and style, and you can even purchase some that allow you to rep Rochester, like the mask pictured. Overall, I would rate these a 7/10 they are really cute and comfy.

*Bonus Feature*

Since two of the masks that I rated/recommended require filters, I thought I should share where I purchase my mask filters. The filters that I buy are carbon filters off of Amazon. They come in a pack of 10 or 30 priced at $5.99 and $9.99 respectively, and they are super easy to put into any of the masks.

Thank you so much for reading and I hope that you like my top 5 mask picks. Buying these masks aren’t as important as wearing a mask in general. Make sure you where your mask and remember, don’t be that flyer!
