Part 1: Pittsford Dairy

Pittsford Dairy is a pinnacle spot to stop for a treat. Located at 44 N. Main St., Pittsford, NY 14534, it’s open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Sunday. Luckily, it’s only a short 5-7 minute walk from campus (depending on your walking pace, lol). On a nice day take a break from studying and grab a group of friends and take a short walk to the dairy. You could even stop by bikes@naz and ride down.

The Dairy offers so many different treats that’ll be sure to put a smile on your face and make any bad day better. With so many different options, it can be hard for those who are indecisive to make a choice. If you ever have trouble deciding, go with your gut… and buy more than one thing, you’ll thank me later when you want a late-night snack.

Luckily for us college students who don’t have much cash to spend, the dairy is very affordable. You can expect to spend anything from $4 to $10 depending on what you decide to get.

You could grab a pint to go from one of their freezers, or you could grab a nice and warm pastry from the bakery. In the mood for a drink, grab a vanilla milkshake, or maybe you’re feeling a freshly baked cookie. If you’re like me, you’re getting a single scoop with a waffle cone. I typically always get the same order when going to different ice cream shops: chocolate ice cream with rainbow sprinkles. But, not when I’m at The Dairy. Every time you go you have to try something new, and I promise, you won’t regret it.

But don’t think ice cream and sugary treats are all they have to offer. They also are a mini grocer. Bread loaves, milk, eggs, oh my! Being in the middle of a pandemic, I urge you to support this local business as well as many others in the area.

If you’re like me, and your friends always make fun of you for eating ice cream, don’t listen to what they say, because ice cream is a YEAR-ROUND food.
