It’s here… Fall!!! If you’re like me, you can’t wait for summer to wrap up and the temperature to finally start cooling down. You can pull out all of your favorite sweaters, sweatpants, and pom hats and truly be in your element.

Besides switching out your wardrobe, there are a ton of different activities to do this spooky season.

One of my favorite fall activities is apple picking. Wickham Farms, which is only a short 15-minute drive from campus has some tasty apples. Their collection includes Honeycrisp, Empire, McIntosh, and other in-season apples. After picking your favorite apples, you can either eat them on-site or take them home to make a warm, delicious, apple pie!

Wickham Farms doesn’t only have apples. Around the farm, you can grab different pumpkins from their pumpkin patch. They have a field full of large pumpkins, as well as wagons full of tiny pumpkins. These are great for decorating your room to get in the spooky spirit.

One of my other favorite fall activities is doing a corn maze. Although they can be rather tricky, they are fun to experience with a group of friends. A great place to go for a rather challenging experience is Long Acre Farms. Grab a group of friends and take the 20-minute drive from campus to do their Moonlight Maze. The maze can take you anywhere from one hour to three, so make sure you bring a flashlight (just in case).

Another fall favorite is an outdoor petting zoo! At Powers Farm, you can grab an amazing apple cider donut, then head outside to their petting zoo. If you stay at the farm long enough, you can snag some tickets for their Nighttime Spooky Hayride. The 17-minute ride is family-friendly and entertaining, and it was also voted #1 Hayride in Rochester by WHEC!

For all my 21 and up Golden Flyers, I have the perfect place for you. If you’re willing to make the 30-minute drive, Blue Barn Cidery is a great place to try some seasonal flavors. Make sure you have a designated driver, and always drink responsibly.

I hope you enjoy all of these fall favorite activities. Tag @nazstudents on Instagram and TikTok to be featured on our story!
