Life at Naz, for most of the year, involves lots and lots of snow. When the smoke finally clears and the campus warms up, it’s best to take advantage of it!

We’re finally seeing some sun in Rochester, so here are my top 3 favorite things to do at Naz once the weather warms up.

Bikes@Naz – There are free bike rentals available right in the Shults Center! Take a bike for a day and go explore, or take part in a 1 hour guided tour of Pittsford or the canal, every Wednesday and Friday from noon to 1:00. Bikes@Naz is a fun, free, and easy way to get around on a sunny day; I’ve even seen people riding them to class!

Studying on campus – There are so many perfect study spots on campus, it’s hard to pick just one. The Clocktower Quad definitely is a great place to enjoy some sun with some friends for a study session. For a more private and shady option, I always pick one of the many tables on the lawn in between Shults and the Library. It’s the ideal spot to get some reading done and admire some of the beautiful scenery. There are also benches all over campus that are great places to sit back and study, like this one, tucked behind GAC by the labyrinth.

Walking to the Pittsford Canal – A short walk from campus, a visit to the Pittsford Canal is a must for the end of Spring semester. With the weather just perfect and the water beginning to rise, the Pittsford Canal is nothing short of picturesque. If you find yourself hungry once you get there, you have plenty of options, including Aladdin’s Natural Eatery, Simply Crepes, or a great little gelato shop by by what water. I would definitely recommend the Coal Tower Restaurant. Given its name, It’s hard to miss!
