There are a lot of awesome things that come with being a college student, but probably one of my favorites is all the chances to have amazing experiences at a discounted rate. I’ve spent the past few years scouring Nazareth and the Rochester area, and I’ve found some really awesome deals for students. Here are my top 5!
1. Free admission to the Memorial Art Gallery.
I feel like the Memorial Art Gallery finds its way in nearly every blog post I write, and for good reason: It’s truly an amazing art gallery, and even more amazing because you can get in totally for free (just make sure to bring your Naz ID). They have art from almost every period of human history, so if you’re short on cash and looking for something to do over the weekend, definitely consider heading down to the MAG.
2. $3 off for a ticket at the Little Theatre
The Little is one of my favorite places to go in Rochester. They play a lot of low-budget and indie films, and other stuff that you might not be able to see in a big theatre. What they also have is a student discount. Tickets are usually $9, but with a college ID you can get in for $6. Not too bad of a deal if you ask me.
3. Two-for-one at the Strong Museum of Play
The Strong Museum of Play is exactly as it sounds: A whole museum dedicated to the history and exploration of play! The tiny Wegmans is sure to bring a smile to even the most reluctant grocery shopper and this is, in general, a super fun place to spend the day. You can be a part of it all with their two-for-one deal for college students, so grab a friend and head down there one of these weekends.
4. Fundraisers at Moe’s
Sports teams, clubs, and other school groups always have awesome fundraisers at Moes to raise money, and showing your ID gives you a 10% discount! There are always multiple per semester, so don’t miss out!
5. 6 Months of Amazon Prime
This is an amazing deal, and only available for college students! Sign up, and you get all of the movies and TV shows that Amazon Prime has to offer for 6 months, plus free two day shipping for any purchases. It’s perfect for last minute dorm decor and students who love to shop but don’t have the time or means to go off campus. Collaborate with your roommate and you could make it a year for free! Definitely a good deal for endless movie nights in your dorm, and the mail room at Naz is great about getting your packages to you with no stress.
